Frequently asked questions about staying at Guesthouse Kalkbreite

Check-in/Check-out

Three days before arrival, you will receive an email from us asking you to pay online and to check and sign the digital registration form (guest data). On the day of arrival, you can request your room number and access code online from 9:00 a.m. and your room will then be ready for you at 16:00.

The reception is open from Monday to Friday from 15:00 — 19:00. The reception is not staffed on weekends and public holidays. Outside opening hours, you can access your room key via keybox. You can find the instructions over here Check-out is at 11:00. Please contact us in advance for a late check-out. Where possible, we are happy to provide this. A flat rate of 60 CHF is charged for late, unannounced check-outs.

Staying overnight with kids

For children up to 2 years of age, we can provide a cot in their parents' room free of charge. Please add the baby cot as an additional service when booking online.

- Children 0 — 5 years old stay free
- Children 6 — 11 years pay CHF 10.- per night/per child
- From 12 years of age, the regular accommodation rate for adults applies
- no extra beds can be placed in our standard single and double rooms
- Only in the family room can two children be accommodated on the pull-out sofa

Most rooms are barrier-free. We have a completely barrier-free room with a private bathroom and a barrier-free shared bathroom.

Important: If you need a lift, please let us know ahead of time. This allows us to ensure that you get your room key even if you arrive after 19:00.

Each en suite room is equipped with a hairdryer. The shared bathroom also has a hair dryer.

Getting there

Kalkbreite is a car-free settlement and we ask you to travel by public transport whenever possible. There are few parking spaces available for our guests in a private parking garage nearby, which can be booked in advance by email. Parking costs 20 CHF per night (14:00 day of arrival until 14:00 day of departure). You will receive more information with your booking.

dogs

Small dogs are generally allowed here as long as the dogs are house-trained and do not bark. For dogs, we charge 10 CHF per night. We are happy to provide a water bowl and a dog blanket. Please add the dog as an additional service when booking online.

scouring

As a sustainable guesthouse, your room is not cleaned daily if you stay for several days. Bed linen is changed every five days and towels are changed every three days.
